Ariel School encounter outside Harare
Approximately sixty-two children at the Ariel School in Ruwa, Zimbabwe, report observing a silvery craft and small humanoid figures during morning recess. The case is documented by Harvard psychiatrist Dr. John E. Mack and remains one of the most-cited mass-witness child reports.
On the morning of 16 September 1994, children at the Ariel School in Ruwa, outside Harare, Zimbabwe, reported observing one or more silvery objects descend into a brushy field adjacent to the school playground during morning recess. Multiple children also reported seeing one or more small humanoid figures near the objects.
In the days that followed, the children — approximately sixty-two in number — were interviewed individually by Cynthia Hind, a Harare-based researcher, and subsequently by Harvard Medical School psychiatry professor Dr. John E. Mack and BBC journalist Tim Leach. Mack documented his interviews on video, including drawings produced by the children that he characterized as 'remarkably consistent' across witnesses. The case is the most-cited mass-witness child report in the international UAP record.
