Terms of use

What this site is

Disclosure Archives is an independent editorial reference: a documented record of UAP events built from government hearings, declassified documents, official reports, and named witness testimony. Using the site means you accept these terms. It's a reading site — there are no accounts — so the terms are mercifully short.

Citation and reuse

We want to be cited. You may quote our summaries and link to any page (including deep links into the sightings map) with attribution to "Disclosure Archives" and a link back. Underlying government documents are public records; photographs and videos carry the credit shown with each item, and rights remain with their owners. Wholesale republication of our editorial text is not permitted without permission. Machine-readable access is offered through the data exports and the read-only API — see llms.txt for citation guidance for AI systems.

The embed widget and API

The embeddable widget and public JSON API are free for editorial and personal use, without a key. Don't use them to misrepresent the data's origin, strip attribution, or hammer the endpoints beyond reasonable use. We may rate-limit or revoke access that degrades the service for others. The widget and API are provided as-is and may change with notice on the embed page.

Affiliate disclosure

As an Amazon Associate, Disclosure Archives earns from qualifying purchases. Some book links on event pages, witness pages, topic collections, the library, and in our alert emails are affiliate links: if you buy through them, the retailer pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Recommendations are chosen editorially — books are listed because they are relevant primary or witness accounts, not because of the commission — and the same disclosure appears alongside each block of affiliate links. Revenue supports the operation of the archive; see ownership & funding.

Accuracy, corrections, and no advice

We work from primary sources and label epistemic status carefully (see how we label claims), but errors happen and the underlying record is contested terrain. Content is provided for reference "as is", without warranties of completeness or fitness for any purpose; nothing here is professional advice. If we've got something wrong, our corrections policy applies — write to corrections@disclosurearchives.com and we'll fix it visibly.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Disclosure Archives and its operator (Theophilus Ventures LLC) are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site, the widget, the API, or linked third-party sites. External links — including primary government sources and retailer links — go to sites we don't control.

Changes and contact

We may revise these terms; the date above reflects the current version, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. Questions: tips@disclosurearchives.com. See also the privacy policy.
