Two people, two interviews, one October: the Colorado Springs triangles

Colorado Springs, Colorado has now produced two distinct triangle reports from the same month. A former Department of War employee, interviewed by the FBI in January 2026, described a 'dark translucent triangle' observed in October 2023 (FBI-UAP-D026). A separate U.S. Person, interviewed independently in October 2025, described a 'large triangle with red lights' — also placed near Colorado Springs in October 2023 (FBI-UAP-D030). PURSUE Release 05 treats the two as separate files rather than a single corroborated sighting: nothing in the released record ties the two witnesses together, and the Department does not present them as describing the same object.

Each account was rendered independently. FBI-UAP-D027 illustrates the first witness's 'dark translucent triangle'; FBI-UAP-D031 illustrates the second witness's 'large triangle with red lights' and has been mirrored by Disclosure Archives as the release's secondary hero image, alongside the Bagram triangle. Read side by side, the two renderings are a rare chance to compare how two independently interviewed witnesses, describing objects in the same city and the same month, produced visibly different shapes and light patterns once the FBI translated their testimony into images.

Colorado Springs already had one open file in the PURSUE corpus before this release: a 2022 case, declassified in Release 03, involving a motionless, matte-white 'bean-shaped' object that an Intelligence Community partner tentatively — and with low confidence — attributed to sunlight backscattering off snow-covered mountains. The 2023 triangle reports are unconnected to that case in the released record; they involve different witnesses, a different year, and a different described shape. Taken together, the Release 03 and Release 05 files make Colorado Springs the closest thing PURSUE has to a recurring domestic hot spot, though the Department has not suggested the reports are related.

Both files remain unresolved. As with the rest of the FBI's 2026 rendering practice, the images are investigative aids built from memory and interview, not photographs — a record of what each witness described, not independent confirmation of what passed overhead.
