DoW PR-028: diamond-shaped object visible only on infrared, Greece

In January 2024, a sensor operator aboard a U.S. military platform operating near Greece recorded 1 minute 5 seconds of footage of an unidentified object across multiple sensor modalities. U.S. Central Command submitted the encounter to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO); the accompanying mission report described the object as 'diamond-shaped' and moving at approximately 434 knots. The video was declassified and published as DOW-UAP-PR028 on May 8, 2026, as part of PURSUE Release 01 on WAR.GOV/UFO.

What makes PR-028 anomalous is the sensor story. The reporting observer stated the object was detectable only via short-wave infrared (SWIR). The released clip bears this out: the object appears as an area of contrast on the SWIR feed at 00:04 — an inverted teardrop with a vertically linear trailing mass suspended below — and holds near the center of the field of view for nearly a minute. At 00:56 the operator switches to the visible spectrum and loses it; switching back to SWIR in Black-Hot mode fails to reacquire it. An object reported at 434 knots that registers on one waveband and nothing else remains, per AARO's own designation, unresolved.

The companion mission report, DOW-UAP-D025 (incident date January 25, 2024, Mediterranean Sea), was released the same day in redacted form. One archival note: war.gov's file description cites the mission report as 'DoW-UAP-D7' — a designation that elsewhere in Release 01 belongs to a NASA Skylab crew debriefing; the Greece mission report as published carries D025.
