CEFAe
Comisión de Estudio de Fenómenos Aeroespaciales
Fuerza Aérea Argentina
CEFAe is Argentina's official UAP investigation commission, created in 2011 within the Argentine Air Force. Its purpose is to evaluate reports involving the country's airspace through a panel of military officers and civilian scientific advisors.
About the program
CEFAe was established in May 2011 by the Argentine Air Force. The commission operates with a deliberately small staff of senior officers and rotating civilian consultants — meteorologists, astronomers, aeronautical engineers — drawn from Argentine universities. Its mandate is to evaluate, classify, and where possible explain reports of aerospace phenomena that come in through the air force's reporting channels.
The agency has historically been less publicly visible than its Chilean and Peruvian counterparts, but it does periodically release case findings and has cooperated with CEFAA and CRIDOVNI on cross-border incidents. The Argentine UAP record also includes a sizeable historical body of cases from the 1960s-1980s held in the National Archives.
